Manual

The Manual is a publication issued three times a year which answers not the hows, but the whys, in web design. We updated the site in a single week to better communicate what The Manual is and better encourage sales with a full redesign coming in the next few months.

8 Faces Magazine

8 Faces is a successful print magazine edited by Elliot Jay Stocks which aims to reinvigorate interest in modern typography. I designed and developed a conceptual single-page experience which took advantage of static positioning and a responsive layout for various devices and browser sizes.

iPhone & iPad

With 8 Faces wide reach within the tech-savvy community, extra stylesheets were developed which adapted the content to display for the iPhone (below) and iPad (above right).

AIGA Minnesota

While under employ at Clockwork, I worked closely with AIGA stakeholders to ensure that their directives were carried into the information architecture and design. In the end, the redesign extends the AIGA Minnesota brand and will improve the organization’s reputation with interactive designers.

Needs/Wants Magazine

iPhone Optimization

Reacting to growing iPhone traffic, I designed and produced a mobile specific layer of CSS to create a more enjoyable experience for those on the go.

Working with the Clockwork developer team, my role was to architect and design screens and features for a content management system. These included an asset management system, SMS interface, Google Analytics reporting, and more.

Active Media Manager

Typesites

Typesites was a weekly showcase of sites with interesting typographic design. The idea sprung from an inspiration folder where I gathered sites with excellent typography. The idea evolved to incorporate extensive design reviews of the site in question. Typesites was a success in the interactive design community with almost six thousand RSS subscribers.
